Four Things To Do In Las Vegas

October 11, 2022

Las Vegas remains one of the most sought-after vacation spots in the country. Founded in 1905 in the greater Mojave Desert, the city has come a long way and built a solid reputation for its opulent casinos, entertaining shows, and celebrity chef restaurants. Stats from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority show that more than 32 million visitors came to the City of Entertainment in 2021.

Vegas surely has something to offer every type of traveler, so here are the top things to do in Vegas.

1. Poker At Bellagio

Vegas has some of the most beautiful casinos in the world, so might as well try your luck out and play at ones with legendary poker rooms, like the Bellagio. This casino has become famous probably because it’s been featured in movies like Ocean’s 11 and Ocean’s 13. Not to mention, it hosts an annual World Poker Tour event. The Bellagio poker room boasts a stylish 7,000 square feet space with 40 tables. It is the perfect place to play poker in luxury and feel the awe of where stars and legends play.

2. Blackjack At Treasure Island

If your game is blackjack, then Treasure Island is the place to be as they offer the only blackjack game that pays 6-5 on a single deck. Those are the best blackjack odds in town! They also offer the best low-level blackjack with minimums usually at $10. If you get hungry, you could visit Gilley’s BBQ or Seafood Shack for some good eats in casual dining. And if you want to take a break and see some entertainment, Treasure Island is home to Mystère by Cirque du Soleil and the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibit. Either one will surely give you a thrilling experience!

3. Walk Down Fremont Street

There is more to Vegas than casinos and gaming. Once the poker cards have been folded, a walk down Fremont Street is one of the best things to do in Las Vegas. It’s away from all the hustle and bustle of the Strip but still is a place where you can relax and enjoy all kinds of entertainment. Fremont Street offers free live musical performances every night. There are thrilling rides, like the SlotZilla zipline, and the dynamic scenery is never a boring sight. The signature attraction of Fremont Street is the Viva Vision light show which is a display of millions of lights on a canopy overlaying Fremont Street.

4. Relax in Red Rock Canyon

As stated earlier, Las Vegas is in the Mojave Desert, so why not go towards the outskirts of the city and go on a desert adventure? Located 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip, Red Rock Canyon is a gorgeous conservation area that many locals flock to for a day out in nature. There are trails for strolling and picnic areas to have a meal. It is an ideal place for memorable pictures because of the natural background – the dramatic reddish mountains. If you just want to see the beauty of Red Rock from inside of your car, there is a one-way 13-mile scenic drive you can take – you’ll be safe and still enjoy the beautiful Mojave Desert. If you’re lucky, you may even see some wildlife, like the desert tortoise, Gila monster, and desert bighorn sheep.

Las Vegas is an amazing city with so many things to do. Casinos are a given, but even outside of the Strip, the adventures continue. Try these suggestions out and experience the best of what Vegas has to offer.
