How to Keep Your Home and Appliances Clean

February 1, 2023

People, especially women, may spend lots of their time in the kitchen of a home. The cleanliness of the kitchen is also as important for good health and home aesthetics as it is for the other home areas. Therefore, apart from stylish decor, beautiful paint colors, and timeless kitchen cabinets, you should also ensure that your appliances are clean and always sparkling. Contrary to what many people may think, cleaning home appliances and making them shine and sparkle like new ones do not require elaborate time or extensive resources and effort. You can have the beautiful and tidy home of your dreams by cleaning your appliances regularly through the tips given below.

Refrigerator

The backspace of a refrigerator can be found dirty in many homes. A lot of gunk, dust and other kinds of materials may gather or fall behind the refrigerator as the area is not easy to access for regular cleaning. It may also be a breeding ground for insects if you are not cleaning it regularly.

The process of cleaning a refrigerator should start at the outside and the back portion of it. You need to pull your refrigerator out of the dedicated space and mop up all the dirt and undesired elements. You can also use a vacuum cleaner for cleaning the coils of the refrigerator that are located behind the machine.

You also need to clean the door gaskets. Sometimes these gaskets may require a replacement. To replace the gaskets, you can simply call the customer care toll-free number of the refrigerator company/home services or can search for the new gaskets on the internet. Replacing and or cleaning the gaskets will provide a tight seal, which is good for saving electricity and hygiene. The refrigerators can be cleaned easily by using a soft cloth or microfiber. Dip the cloth in warm soapy water and wipe all the gaskets with it. You can then rinse it and let it dry. Apart from soap water, you can also use white vinegar and water solution (in a 1:1 ratio) for cleaning the refrigerator.

Dishwasher

While the dishwashers clean your dishes and utensils every day, they also require some regular cleaning and maintenance. For instance, you need to inspect the drain of the machine and remove all the accumulated debris from time to time. The gaskets of the dishwasher should also be cleaned to remove dirt and harmful pathogenic growth and to ensure a tight seal. You can clean the gaskets of the dishwasher in the same way you clean those of the refrigerator. Also, when you want to fix your dishwasher quickly for any issue, you can call the home services that can take care of all issues related to your appliances including the dishwashers, refrigerators, and microwave ovens, among others.

You also need to clean the interiors of the dishwasher. Fill up the dishwasher cup with vinegar solution and place the cup in the empty dishwasher. Now run your dishwasher for a long cycle to sanitize the interiors of the machine. Remember that you can also remove the hard water deposits inside the machine by using lemon juice (instead of vinegar) for cleaning the interiors of the machine. If you find any visible spots, you can scrap them with a brush with soft bristles (such as a used toothbrush).

Microwave

The third important and common appliance nowadays used in kitchens includes the microwave. Nowadays microwaves are used throughout the day for warming or preparing many kinds of recipes. The appliance may easily gather the food, sauce, and soup elements and splatter them every week.

To clean your microwave, you need to fill a bowl (microwave-safe) with clean water. Now place the bowl inside the oven and ensure that it is not covered. You can then heat the oven for a few minutes for the water to boil. All the food elements will loosen up in some time. You can wipe the microwave interiors to remove all kinds of food deposits.

Conclusion

Apart from the popular machines and devices listed above, you can also clean your kitchen stoves, ovens, coffee machines, and other kinds of kitchen devices by using water, vinegar, and lemon juice. However, ensure that these devices are unplugged before you start the cleaning process. Fortunately, the best of home services ensure that you get world-class kitchen appliance repair and maintenance services at the most affordable costs.
