It is the era of science and technology. Scientists and inventors are working day and night to discover new inventions to make human life more comfortable. Men made machinery to make daily life more relaxed, and now a day’s machines are replacing men.

Technology is making work and life much more comfortable, but at the same time, it has made us utterly dependent on it. These inventions and technologies play so much important role in our daily life that we cannot imagine a single day of our life without them.

First inventions are introduced, then their upgrades are launched to improve the device and to fulfill the expectations of the public. Like, many years back, the telephone set was invented for communication. Later it was upgraded into mobiles with advanced features, and now mobile phones are replaced by smartphones.

One of the most significant discoveries in the field of technology is considered a computer, and a laptop is an upgraded and advanced form of a desktop computer. Both the inventions have a similar purpose of work, having a slight difference in performance and features and mobility.

Most of the work these days is performed on computers or laptops. Every house or office is incomplete without them. One major problem with every technology is that it requires repairing and maintenance, and the same happens with computers.

Laptop: The price depends on the features it has, the more advanced features it will have, the more expensive it will be. Since they are small in size, they have more features present in them, and the price will be higher as well.

Appearance

Computer: Computers are large and have different components like monitor, CPU, and assembling parts. It consumes more space as compared to laptops. Mostly a proper computer table is required to place a desktop on it. They are not available in a variety of colors. The appearance of a computer can be considered as a minus point for it since it is not that eye-catching.

Laptop: They are smaller in size and can be kept anywhere easily. It does not consume much space and comes in lightweight. The outer surface of notebooks may be shiny or matte. Laptops are available in different attractive colors, and various types of covers are available for them, which enhances their exterior look. In appearance, laptops are a win.

Processors

Computer: The processor of a desktop machine is better than a processor of a laptop. It has more capacity to perform. Hence, the cooling capacity is much better.

Different clock speed and turbo are present, which helps in regulating the heat processing. The work efficiency of a computer processor is higher than that of a laptop. It is cheaper. It consumes more space.

Laptop: The processor is not as good as a processor of a computer. It heats up very fast. Due to less space, the cooling takes time. Some laptops have perfect processors, but they are highly expensive also.

Performance

Computer: The purpose of both the device is almost the same. A desktop has a stronger processor, so more things can be installed or upgraded on it at a lesser price.

Laptop: Laptop can do the same performance. When it has a good processor, it can also install and upgrade things, and along with that, you are always mobile with it.

Screens

Computer: Computer monitors have an average screen size from 19 to 34 inches. It can be used as television also.

Laptop: Laptop screen size ranges from 11 to 17 inches, which is comparatively smaller.

Keyboards

Computer: Computer keyboards are more prominent, making typing easy.

Laptop: Laptops have smaller and flat keys making typing comparatively tricky.

Parts and their assembly

Computer: Since computers have more parts, so their wiring and are much tricky. The assembling is more time-consuming.

Laptop: All the parts are inbuilt, so you don’t need to worry about the assembling. All you need to do is unpack it, charge it and use it.

Power consumption

Computer: The computer has more parts and is more power-consuming. Once the power supply is lost, there are chances of losing your current work as well.

Laptop: Laptops consume less power, and losing work due to in continuity of power supply is not an issue.

Portability

Computer: Desktop computers are not portable, and you have to work at the same place.

Laptop: Laptops are portable, and you can carry them anywhere and everywhere.
